To a shadetree, $400 may seem cheap.
There is nothing bad about a QJet carb.
And if you were trained to overhaul them, they are not hard to work on. I agree w/ the commercial site prices below.

Rebuilds start at $150.00
Restorations start at $295.00
Basic parts prices:
-Kits: Prices vary from $29.95+ depending on application
