No brakes!

Turns out it was a combination of TV and trailer wiring.
7 pin connection was shot, connections all corroded off.
Where they spliced in the 6 pin connector, it was corroding and when it got wet current was arcing across pins.
6 pin not wired with at 12V hot, so won't charge the batteries.
A couple bad grounds on the trailer
A few other loose wires randomly around the trailer.
Now, everything works and we're good to go!

Well it's getting a through inspection on Wed by someone that knows a lot more about it than me. Hopefully he can get everything figured out. Will let you know what we find.

Thanks for the advice, but what I have has worked for me grossing a lot more weight than this TH will.

My 2000 F250 required the purchase and install of two relays under the hood to get the breaks functional.

Do yourself and everyone on the road a favor. Get a good brake controller such as the Prodigy P2 or P3. You have a time based unit which will not work very good with a large trailer such as yours.

No, they would be in the front area of the rig around the ambilical junction box.
You may need to follow them as they could be inside maybe in a cabinet or void.

TV is a 2001 F250

what brake controller do you have?

It's a Redline TA 1200.

Some trailers have fuses for some functions adjacent to the junction box where the amibilcal cable changes to the rig's wiring.
You could have a bad splice at the same location.
