Norcold 1200 AC HE Code

I just replaced the cooler with an Amish Warehouse cooler. The LP ignites, but over a half hour later no cooling. I put a thermometer in the freezer and the temp went up. Also, it came with the new fans, fan switch, and ac heat elements. I inserted the elements as far as they would go and plugged in. They didnt snap or click in place. Just rested at bottom. When I turn on unit to AC I get the beeping and AC HE code. I don't have a tester. But they are new. All connections appear correct from my pictures taken before taking apart. Could the computer board be bad? Or do I need to perform some kind of reset? I haven't experienced the ease of installation that has been posted on YouTube videos.

Well, turns out I plugged wires in alternating. Not right order. I switched them out and turned it on. No error code anymore. It took about 4 hours for the freezer to reach 3 deg. I still need to verify fan operation. Wires are left to right: Black, Black, Yellow, Yellow per instructions emailed to me from David Force who supplied unit. I will test propane later. Right now I still have it capped off. The original HE's were frozen in place. Couldn't save them. I'm happy with outcome. Would do it again if necessary.

I just swapped out SAME cooling unit. Note tat the heaters plug into the main board... yellow & black in pairs..Meaning two yellow on one set of spade connectors, e.g. from left to right yellow, yellow, black Black or other way around.
Should state in the instructions. I just can't recall at the momment.

After I fired her up, the fans on the back kicked in after about 20 minutes....
This was on a Saturday afternoon, late. By Sunday AM the sucker was frozen solid in the freezer! Great units!

Can you switch to Propane till you get the heater issue resolved? Can you use an original heater element till you get a replacement? My original elements where still functional BUT i was unable to remove from original cooling unit. Rusted in tight!

Keep us posted.

AC-HE One of your NEW 120 elements is BAD. The code states OPEN connection. You need to OHM out each element. IF you do a search, there is a thread from someone that USED the supplied AFTERMARKET Heating Elements that the CU builder supplied and had one fail brand new.. They are NOT Norcold OEM elements and IMO, are NOT to be used. You need to get Norcold OEM heating elements. Doug
