norcold freezer ice build up

Hi all, I have a 2011 jay flite with norcold fridge. bottom works fine but freezer has bad ice build up problem. I believe seal is bad but cannot find replacement. norcold says to buy a new door ???
Anyone else had this problem and if so any ideas on a fix? Hate to buy a new door just for a seal,

    Do you have an icemaker.. If so turn it off to reduce icing in the freezer and use a table top ice maker..

    WHY. Well when the thing fills it adds moisture vapor to the compartment as well.
  • If the freezer door seal is bad, you will see a line of frost/ice from the door to the rear of the back wall. If you only have ice build up on the back wall, that is normal. These are not self defrosting refers in RV's. Depending on the Humidity and how often you open the door depends on how much frost/ice build up there is. The usual test for a gasket is to insert a dollar bill all around the door gasket close the door and see if there is resistance when pulling it out. Yes, there are no gaskets available, only doors that come with the gasket. Doug
  • go to a refrig parts store , either take rv or the gasket, they fixed mine. not a store where they sell refrigs a parts store.
