Norcold Fridge issues

Model 9162 in a '98 Cameo Camper. Unit sat up for a long time until I bought the camper. Cleaned it up, connected 12v, propane and A/C. Nothing. Fuse in the back is good. I confirmed 12v and A/C to the control board. I assume the control board id bad. Thoughts?

1. You do not state if the controls are dead or do they light up?
2. There are 2 fuses on the main control board at the back. The ATC 3 amp fuse is the 12 volt fuse that controls power to the refer controls. You need to check it.
3. IF the controls work, does the back side of the Burner housing get hot? It should on either LP or 120 volts. Doug

Not a norcold here but a Dometic... Had an issue not unlike yours.

Wound up doing the disconnect and reconnect job. Disconnected al cables (one at a time) and reconnected a couple of times.. Success was mine

My 8.1L Vortec (Engine) had to be replaced,,, Well it would not start, Diagnosis and Error codes suggested a specific sensor.. The engine was used had sat for like a decade and the terminal on the connector on this sensor which we reused for reasons I need not explain here (Other sensors we used the origina engines) so the mechanic unplugged and re plugged a few times And I tried again I dont think I got the key all the way to the start position and it was running (fired on the first cylinder to reach TDC).

So that would be suggestion 1

NORCOLDs have undergone a recall. Many of them have a "Recall box" This is a black box with a red light.. Ran into a RVer last summer who's Norcold was not working, He described it and mentioned the light was on (The box is clipped to a pipe in the outside compartment) (I took my big magnet and waved it across the top half of the box. there was a CLICK, the light went out and the fridge now works.. HE,,, Went out and bought a magnet.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

Model 9162 norcold

Too bad ๐Ÿ™‚ ...
This one needs 12VDC to operate in LP mode: 9162 Norcold

If there are no lights flashing or blinking on the front panel, and you're saying DC on control board is OK, then control board is a toast. Or there is another fuse that you haven't found yet. Or DC is too low.

Some fridges don't need 12V in propane mode. Knowing fridge model would help.

If fridge ignition is clicking rapidly when you are trying to ignite, then it's not a 12V problem.

As suggested, first fire the stove up, this will purge air from the lines.

Or, you could get a multimeter and check for 12 and 120 volt power at the frig. In addition, make sure a burner on the stove will light - often after sitting a long time, the propane lines need purging.

If it's like most, it requires 12V to run on both propane and AC. I would unplug and re-plug all the connection one at a time to check that you don't have a corroded contact before replacing anything. Sometimes there is more than one fuse.
