Norcold Refrigerator problem

I'm in a park on power, 30amp in a travel trailer. I opened the door to the unit and the inside light goes out. I shut the door and the green power light flashes twice over and over. I looked at a guide and it says power or fan problem. I have no idea where the fan is or if I even have one. I never heard it run. I will call the repair service in the morning and for now I switched over to gas.

When it's off you need to check the power to the control board, 12 VDC and 120 VAC. What does it show on the inside display when it's off? This sounds like maybe a loose connection. Check all the wiring going to the board. One of the push-on connectors could be loose. Does it have the Norcold recall box?

If you feel your RV is not level, this is a good time to be sure your Dometic or Norcold refrigerator is not turned on. Your fridge can stay cold for hours without power. We can travel eight hours and the fridge will only drop a few degrees if we don't open the doors

The refrigerator seems to be working properly now. I took my light out from inside the box, replaced it and even it now works. Last night I was watching my 12 volt ceiling lights and they do look dim. I'm starting to think my battery is weak or needs replacement. It should be time. Problem is I'm not sure what spes they call for on the battery. I suspect its just a deep cycle battery and I will go with the size I had. I read my book and they didn't say anything about type or size. 26 pull trailer with 30 amp system. 12 volt.

I look on rv sites and they have batteries that are upwards of $500. Yikes!

do your other 12 volt items work correctly?

It might be a problem with your 12 V. Might have bad batteries or maybe the converter is not working. Maybe you can find a local electrical person that has a meter that can help you.

is your air cond working?
- flip the post breaker off for 15-sec and then back on. same problem?
- have a volt/ohm meter? measure the voltage at the post.
- can you plug into a different post?
- unplug from post. start generator. same problem?

In this park I have now and then tripped the breaker outside on the post. I went outside and l flipped the breaker on and off and the green light quit flashing. I still don't have a light inside the box. This park has had some issues with power. I also just noticed my propane sensor is not working right (flash red instead of green but no alarm going off) and its ten years old so I'm replacing it tomorrow.

any other power issues or just the fridge? what happens if you switch the fridge to LP?
