door problems Norcold Refrigerator

I have a rv refrigerator that the door sticks at top and it is hard to open .I see a bracket at the bottom with 3 bolts . Is this where you adjust it . Also you can push on the top of the door like it is not sealing at the top. It is working fine and this is my first time snow birding so been in the coach since the 31st. This is a 2011 Winnebago I ordered new going on 7 years ago. Also I have a gas and power water heater and it got down to 20 last night . In the middle of my shower I ran out of hot water . After shower I ran the lp side and hd plenty of hot water. Does the cold weather work the power side more and need both the lp to have hot water.
  • The Water Heater while both electric and LP CANNOT give lots of hot water on Electric only. The Electric element does not have the capacity to recover lost hot water that fast. The LP side does. You can run both LP and Electric at the same time for faster recovery. Need more info on the refer Model would help. Doug
  • I can't help with your door but I will tell you gas will heat water faster than electric.
  • I had similar issues with my fridge. If I recall correctly, there are two or three screws holding the top hinge in position. Remove the screws and hinge which will allow you to lift the door off of the bottom hinge pin. I bought some plastic/nylon discs at Lowe's that fit over the hinge pin on the bottom hinge. I think an 1/8" thk. disc took care of my problem, hopefully this will work for you also.
  • check your bottom bracket our broke off completely and the door fell off because it was plastic , there is a metal kit to replace the plastic lower hinge point bracket, we have since sold that trailer so I am not sure of the kit part number but it is out there if you search for it.
  • As I remember, Norcold has a kit available to repair/update hinges. While the door is off, check the latch mounting screws, may need oversize screws to tighten.

    x2

The older ones brackets do NOT have screws. It's just a pivot point. I kept trying to screw that thing back on until I got my glasses and found out it is not a screw. Who makes fridge hinges like that? :R

I used liquid weld to keep it on. And the door still kept falling off.

Fast forward to now, they finally actually make replacement parts for that dumb not a screw hinge and upper and lower brackets for norcold.

    Here are the links.
I am 'not' making them a clicky.

Because when I do include web site links in my posts I have to jump the hoops in captcha to prove I am not a robot. :W
