Oh NO, electrical problem

Big Shout Out, Newman! If you're anything like me, I cannot directly repay people who have helped me. Can't reciprocate because they knew more than I did on the front end. What I can, and have, done, is help others in places like this Forum. I've called and we've gone through a process. Often not that hard, but it's Pay it Forward, and totally worth it.

@Cutler-Hammer Breakers - Our IOTA power center uses those. They look just about like Siemens. Just not quite and twice the price.

ok folks i had him call me and spent time on the phone with him and went step by step with him.Got his converterunpluggedand the dirict short out of the loop.Got electric back on and went step by step with each appliance making shure they worked i then gave him a place and part number for a converter that he ordered while on the phone.I then educated them and answered any questions they had cas they were very upset.so if you need any more statemants on this please feel free to pm me

I read newman fulltimer's one other one sentence post and sure didn't get all that shared knowledge and expertise that you appeared to have gotten. Maybe it was done by PM, but still I didn't see much new in what newman fulltimer's post said and missed compeletly how what he said saved anything:S

I'm not too sure just how much protection a simple surge protector would provide in this particular situation.

I disagree with the suggestion of what was learned here and I think the real lesson is that the OP would have been much better served had he/she taken to heart the specific warning about this potential wiring issue that was identified over 4 months ago in THIS THREAD back then by RoyB in his post in that thread. Heeding RoyB's warning back then would have prevented this issue being discussed here from ever happening in the first place. IMO that is the REAL LESSON LEARNED.

Get in the habit of always plugging an electrical tester in every receptacle.

I use a 30-15 adapter, a Kill-a-watt, and a polarity tester. The test only takes about 15 seconds extra time.

Since when did a camper come with a Cutler-Hammer load center in it? This does not sound like a normal RV load center to me. Just wondering. I think some of the posters missed this point.

Threads like this remind me of a line from a song: "When will they ever learn, When will they EV-ER LEARN" (Blowin' in the Wind)

Lots and lots of threads here about the danger of plugging into 30 amp outlets other than at RV parks (And even there in some cases) without checking voltage first.

Many professional electricans see that outlet and wire it for a dryer, Air compressor, Welder or other 240 volt device (The outlet clearly says 125 volts max on it).

I wired my own,, properly,, Triple checking all connections,, No problems.
