- Chris_BryantExplorer IIUnless the OP is taller than Shaq, I really doubt he could see the TV in a BT Cruiser while driving- unless of course he simply sets the cruise control so he can fix a sandwich :)
Usually these have very small 400 watt inverters just for the TV- they will be up in the TV area. - BobboExplorer IIwa8yxm has a point. If the TV operates while not plugged in, no generator, engine turned off, it is operating normally on an inverter. An interlock that prevents current to the TV while the engine is running has activated to keep the TV off while driving anytime the engine is running.
If the TV does not operate under those circumstances, you will have to search for the inverter. The inverter in my MH is at floor level directly below the kitchen sink. It does have an ON/OFF switch on its face. - wa8yxmExplorer IIIDoes the tv work if you are parked, ENGINE OFF, and generator off? If so your inverter is working.
IF the TV is mounted in view of the driver, as many TV's are in class A's (it is in an overhead compartment above the dash, True, It's mighty uncomfortable for me to look at it while driving, but it is also possible) then there is an interlock to prevent it from working when I'm driving.
This is by federal law.
State laws prohibit it being on while driving as well.
You can move the plug on the TV to the outlet used for the Sat Receiver or some other inverter powered outlet in that same area if you MUST have the TV on while engine running (Example, if you have a rooftop sat antenna and you need to position so it has the needed view of the sky). But I will warn you that police officers think they are overworked, and underpaid, and your very expensive vehicle means that in their eyes you have too much money, so give 'em an excuse and they will happily write you that ticket.

OK...I see I need to be specific on this forum. The cruiser is sitting in my driveway...I'm just getting familiar w/it before going on the road.

Welcome to the Big, Wide, Wonderful World of "We don't care what you asked- you're going to DIE, and here's how", O.P. ;)
Perhaps among others, I actually looked up your rig- doesn't look to me like it even has a T.V. that's visible from the driver's seat...that meaning I guess you really ARE just trying to figure out how to make the living-space-mounted T.V. work for your passengers.
Carry on! And good luck...
It seems the title of the thread, (Operating TV while driving down the road) Has nothing to do with the question he wanted an answer to. - Francesca_KnowlExplorer

Then check if it has an ON button or if it has circuit breakers on it that are tripped.
There also may be a circuit breaker in your AC Dist. Panel that inverter feeds that has to be ON
Small battery banks & small inverters typically feed only dedicated ac outlets - wiregrasswExplorerOK...I see I need to be specific on this forum. The cruiser is sitting in my driveway...I'm just getting familiar w/it before going on the road. But, it seems to me I should be able to be parked in some location...no hookups & I don't want to run the generator, but I'd like to watch TV. Just trying to figure out where the switch is to activate the inverter.

Yep. IF the driver can see it. It is illegal. It then becomes not only your business, But the Patrol Officers as well. - SaltiDawgExplorer
