Overhead A/C wont shut off fan when Temp is reached

I just bought a new 2013 29" stealth Toy Box trailer. It has a Dometic non-ducted A/C unit with the controls on the ceiling unit. When you set the A/C temp. and it turns off the A/C the fan keeps running. Is there a thermostat convertion kit I can install or take to the Dealer and have them install it, that will shut the A/C and the fan off??

Many times I hear folks complain about the noise of the air conditioner.. Frankly they have no clue as to what they are yammering about.. (I used to work in an office with a computer-room unit, this puppy made about as much noise as a dozen non-ducted A/Cs and yes, it was not ducted).

IF you leave the fan run, not only does your brain build filters to block the noise, but the noise blocks outside noise, likey your neighbor's knock down/drag out 2 sites over.

This is one option, I think I'm going to try it as it's pretty cheap solution.

Ooops edited to add. I just realized that you stated that you had a non-ducted AC. The info below applies to my ducted AC. When I had a non-ducted I never did figure out how to turn the fan off.


Find and read the manual for your thermostat. My Dometic thermostat has Auto, Hi and Low settings. On Auto, the fan turns off when the AC turns off. It didn't really bother me that the fan ran all the time until I discovered that the furnace caused the AC fan to run all the time even though the furnace was in the floor and had its own blower. I was investigating replacing the thermostat when I stumbled upon the manual for mine and discovered it was a simple change at the thermostat.

I can set my Dometic thermostat to whichever mode I select. Fan on Auto, HI or LOW.

I was told that there was a remote t-stat that I could get to resolve this problem. The control box has to be changed out, which comes with this kit and you can wire the heater into the new remote t-stat which comes with the kit. I seen a few different Remote T-stats but couldn't get much info on them about my situation and a few of the pros agree but couldn't help me.It has only two knobs on it. One for fan, heat strip(I don't have)& A/C, Hi, Med or Low. And one for the thermostat. Can anyone help me with this?

I had the same "problem" with my AC unit. The way it's wired is for the fan to run continuously when turned on. I rewired it so the fan came on and off with the compressor. It was a very simple fix.
However, we were less comfortable. It seemed like the camper got too hot between AC compressor cycles. I've sense put the wiring back the way it was. Now the fan runs all the time and I don't worry about it.

Is there a switch that is labeled "FAN" with ON and AUTO, if so, switch it to AUTO
