Photovoltaic Panel Diodes

I have been gifted several P V panels ranging from 80 to 120 Was to. They all have some damage to the Diodes due to weather ( Water) , all are still producing full voltage but require the Diodes to prevent back feeding and to complete the output circuit!
Where is a relable source?
  • Queale Electronics in Victoria sells things like that.(250-388-6111)

They can order them for you. I would take in the broken ones to be sure they know exactly what you want. Guys at the counter know their stuff.

That's where I was able to get thermistors to repair my battery chargers that had fried thermistors. Cost very low and you don't have to buy a whole box full either.
  • A couple of years ago, I tried to find schottky diodes locally with no luck. As you are in Canada (like me) they are available on amazon.ca but keep in mind, most sellers that carry these are from overseas so shipment may take awhile.
  • you mean the diodes on the terminals
the blocking diodes for preventing backfeed if the panel is shaded ?

those are schottky diodes, most hobby surplus places have them
    you can check with allelectronics.com

be sure they are the single diode 'axle' lead not compound diodes in a transistor package

oh check amazon, i think i bought some from an amazon store supplier

you will need something with a 10amp capacity
those panels are 5 to 7 amps each
typically two diodes in each connection box
