Power Awning Switch

Had a problem with the power awning. Would extend just fine, but only retract a couple of feet before stopping. Tried it with the remote, everything was fine. Took the switch out of the wall, to find that the wire connecting the switch to the awning controller is a piece of 4 conductor phone cord--the stuff that is used for connecting a landline phone to a modular jack. While stripping the jacket, the installer had nicked one of the 22 ga. wires, just enough to cause an intermittent open.

A minor issue, easily found and repaired, but just another indicator of the state of quality control in today's RV industry.

I didn't know about it. It worked fine last season.

Wow, that's not nearly heavy enough unless it's just going to some kind of controller or relays.

Yes, it runs to a controller about the size of a computer mouse. Has a couple of lights on it, I assume it's the receiver for the remote. The switch wire plugs into it with a standard old-school phone plug.
