RAM Electric A Frame Jack Problem

My electric A frame jack stopped moving the lower tube today. The tube is free to slide up and down and I can feel a nut or bolt head inside it when I feel up from the bottom. The electric motor is working just fine and I had to run it in order to push the inner tube in far enough to get some ground clearance then I bungee corded it in place. It's Sunday night, pouring down rain but I am safe and sound at home. I would like to try to fix this in the morning but I have been unable to find a manual or parts diagram on the internet. I emailed the manufacturer but they are on the west coast and I would like to try to get at this first thing tomorrow and there is a 3 hour time difference. Can anyone suggest what I may be getting into in order to repair this or does anyone have a source for a manual or parts diagram? It's a RAM 3,500 lb. electric A frame jack, Model EJ-3508-WBX

I am just trying to get some idea of the scope of the repair I may be getting into tomorrow. Yes, it should still be covered by warranty but I have to weigh the time and fuel for a 2 hour round trip to the dealer vs. a quick fix in the driveway.
  • A question would be whether the warranty is still valid.

It sounds like the nut or nut and plate have come loose from the top of the tube.

support the trailer tongue and remove the complete jack assembly from the hitch. Try to extend the tube with the motor to gain access to the nut/plate. May need to disassemble the power head so that the threaded shaft can drop down and out.

The nut/plate probably needs to be welded back to the tube.
