I am thinking of installing a full time rear view camera in my old Southwind.It will need about 35 feet of wiring if I go wired but I would like to go wireless. I plan to do an interior mount using the rear window for the camera to see out. I have a Television in the front of the rig that has all the "right" connections (RCA, HDMI, CAT 5 etc).What ideas do you have for me and do any of you have a recommended brand.PLEASE DO NOT POST A GOOGLE search. I have looked on the net and now I want input from those who HAVE ACTUALLY DONE such an install.If you found a brand you love let me know and if you had a dud brand please let me know

I used the 35 ft cable as I figure that the wireless wouldn't work that great at 32 ft.HTH

You may be able to find better prices, but here's where I went for mine years ago. It was hardwired and still works flawlessly. Looks like lots of wireless options now. Tim provided great customer service and even gave me the wiring breakdown so I could combine a different model camera into the system.

I have the same one as BillyW.There maybe some cheaper on ebay tho..And mine has worked flawlessly for 7 years.

I bought an inexpensive wireless setup. It gets occasional static, but I LOVE having it. I run the camera off the 12V sense lead from the fridge (converted to home fridge) and power the display from the fuse box. Ordered all from Amazon. Camera was $15, display was $25, wireless setup was $20. One thing I noticed is that at night, the red brake lights make things WAY more visible than the white backup lights. I am thinking of adding a pair of red lights to bolster the regular white backup bulbs for night use.Jose

I don't have a recommendation for a camera to use through the rear window, but probably most any camera without night vision would work.

Here is an very good quality camera and what I have on my motorhome.

It is designed for exterior mount, and may not work well through your window due to the LED's for night vision. This camera has a threaded barrel type connector, and may require adapters to work with your cable and television. On edit, I just noticed that this ships with 32 ft of cable and an rca connector converter.

I bought a wireless setup from Amazon for my 30 ft. The camera is mounted outside and runs off a clearance light so I run with my park lights on. It has a 7" monitor which I like. It can get some static or interference on it but it has not been a problem. It was fairly inexpensive and I am very satisfied with it. I believe I bought the camera, wireless component, and monitor separately for under $100.
It is in color.

Have heard good things about the wireless Voyager, mounted outside, BUT have also heard some reports of moisture issues? For those with an outside mount, what has been your experience and how long have you had it exposed to the elements???
