Slides and jacks stopped working - 2004 Colorado 5th wheel

Hi everyone, I've found similar posts for other rigs but none of them solved my problem.

I have a 2004 Colorado 5th wheel by Dutchmen. It's the 33RL. We are leaving our camp site and I was raising the jacks while my wife was bringing in a slide. All of a sudden both of them stopped working. They are not hydraulic.

There is no clicking noise when we hit any of the switches. We are connected to shore power (I've also tried it with it disconnected). We do not have a battery disconnect so it's not that.

All of the other 12v systems work find--lights, fridge, propane water heater, etc. The battery meter shows full.

I'm *guessing* that I blew a fuse. Is that possible? If so, how do I find out which fuse that I blew? I looked at the fuse panel and none of them are labeled for jacks or slides.

I'm a total newbie when it comes to this stuff, so be gentle :)

Thanks!
  • It will usually be a circuit breaker at the batteries- they might look a bit like this, but plastic, and have a small button on the end- push it back in.

They should be within a foot or so of the batteries.

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately I couldn't find anything like that. The only thing I could find near the batteries were this, and then the ground into the frame (which was secure).

Edit: Here is a link to the picture since it's not posting properly. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ro9eu96g28dxkzy/20170622182337.jpg?dl=0
  • Check fuses near th battery & in the converter panel, loose connections also.

That's it- there is a button on one end, push it back in.I think it will be the one on the right in the picture. It will be on the bottom, I believe (in the picture it is on the end with the copper colored post)

Yours have rubber covers, but you can see the button in this pic-

I'd buy you a beer if I could! I looked at that thing 3 times and didn't see the tiny button. It was on the right, as you said. I pushed it in and everything is working again.

Thanks so much! I was just about to call a mobile tech.

I agree with the circuit breaker theory however not with the appearance.. Alas I have not a photo but there is one that has a lever that pops out as well as a button or switch,, But start at the battery and follow the positive wires, you will find it.
  • Just remember that you cannot run both the jacks and slides at the same time. If you trip a breaker too many times it will get weak and need replacing.

Sorry for the delayed reply, we were traveling. I'll remember that in the future. This RV is new to us; with our last one we could operate slides and the jack at the same time, but with this one not so much.
