Smart Hydometer

The HH-100 is a self contained hand-held version of our battery state of charge sensor. As an added bonus this device also measures anti-freeze concentrations. The HH-100 is perfect addition to a professional auto service shop. Please see the flyer for additional details.
  • It would be nice to be able to do a quick check on the state of charge but both of these devices appear to be too tall for my battery compartment.
  • I'm far from through picking on things SMART. I saw this absurd tool that does not even read third decimal gravity readings and well, forgive me, I just couldn't resist.

I rinse the bulb and snorkel of my Francis Freas, every time I use it. It turned twenty some odd years old and still looks like new. It is housed inside a capped black 4" length cylinder of PVC from Home Despot. The diameter of the bulb and snorkel act as shock absorbing snubbers.

I'll see if I can find more SMART stuff to feed the angry gods of foolishness.
  • Mine was $7.95 at harbor tractor supplier. Everthing must have 2 uses so mine can be a turkey baster too.

    ???????????????????? Where's The Electrolyte Scale ?????????????????????

    What the hell for?

My kill o watt displays 121.3v, I don't need no sticking scale.

Now that was a SMART decision. You know about my feeling about SMART tech things

Why post a product (which sounds like recommendation) then run away from it? In my book spending close to $300 on product to test an RV battery makes little/no economic sense.
  • I have been using the same refractometer for near 40 years. It is completely insensitive to temperature and reads either coolant or battery. Mine is no longer manufactured, the newer version of the instrument is ~150$, But, you can get the Chinese version on Ebay for less than 20$us. <= Shipped But shop carefully and get a scale you like.
