Solar Wiring Diagram

No, just plug it in to a convenient 12v place.. batteries, buss, inverter. Doesn't really matter. The electrons will work it out!

Just don't have the converter charging through the controller. Put them in parallel onto the battery.

Show us your diagram and then we can decide, not too many ways to hook up solar to do it right.????

Very simply. From the batteries to a disconnect switch then routes to a buss bar. That splits to :
1. Converter
2. Solar
3. 400w inverter
4. Elec Jacks-Bigfoot treated them as an option

So basically everything is in parallel.

2. Solar controller output should have it's own breaker or off-switch between controller and bus.
3. (Maybe) connect inverter directly to battery if this results in a shorter DC wire run. Also, make sure the output is not in parallel to converter input.

Hey Almot, welcome back to the zoo. :) Why? The inverter and converter should be in in parallel to the batts and can share the same pair of wires.

Interruption of the solar converter can also be before the controller, between the modules and controller. It's not necessary, but convenient.

FWIW, I have the solar controller, the inverter, the converter, and the batteries, of course, all on one bus. Circuit protection (fuses) are all at the bus and the battery is fused at the positive terminal.

Not the inverter AC "output" and converter AC "input"! Because he'll be feeding the converter from from the batteries then.

Westend is right, it's nice to have a switch or fuse on the controller input. Just for convenience. Doesn't have to be a fuse. Alternatively, you can climb the roof and undo the MC4 connector - all panels over 160W have it.

If the inverter's AC output is wired to the camper AC outlets through a transfer switch that wouldn't happen.

But really I thought the OP was asking about the DC side of things.
