[SOLVED] Replacement plug head for NEMA 15A 10 AWG extension

I've stretched out Google (edit: and also checked a Lowe’s) but can't seem to find any replacement plug heads for what I am pretty sure is a 10 AWG extension cord which came with our used RV. (Edit: The jacket does not list the wire gauge.) Best I can find is 12 AWG. The plug head is missing the ground pin which causes it to slip out of the outlet too easily. I'm hesitant to cut the outer casing to confirm it's 10 AWG but the diameter is about 9/16ths of an inch which matches what I've seen 10 AWG cord is. And I don't want to cut the head to attempt to mate it with the common 12 AWG replacement heads because if it doesn't fit, it would ruin it.

So. Anyone know of 10 AWG replacement plug heads?

20A plugs are somewhat rare. My house has 2 and each is on a dedicated 20A CB. They were intended for golf cart charging. They will accept a 15A or 20A plug.

I receommend using 10 gage copper not copper coated extension cords with 15A plugs for RVs because 10 gauge has less voltage drop.

Yeah, it is 15A 10 gauge.

If really is 10AWG search for one that uses "clamps" to hold the bared wire.

No good on that search, only 12 AWG. I’m hesitant to try something not rated, not so much for the current draw as the size of the connector and jacket that it fits right.

go to an electrical supply house Skip google and go to a sticks and bricks electrical supply house. If you can take the cord, or a couple inches of it, with you.

I did that first before Google. Only 12AWG.

Not a bad idea. Also thought I might just use a short 14 gauge extension at the end, that short distance should be able to handle 15A, it’s rated for it.
