stator and rotor repair

Question

I have an Onan Microlite - I am wondering if instead of replacing rotor and stator if I can have these sent to a repair shop to check and repair. If so, do any of you know of a quality shop?

PS - I don't see the need to spend 7-800.00 on new parts if they can be repaired much cheaper.

Check with any rewind shop. Don't know where you live. So I can't help you on that. But the cost may be as high as a new one. Most of the ones I had done. Were half the cost of a new one.

I do have a KY unit with a blown motor.

What is wrong with them? Is there physical damage from a bolt or something chewing them up or is there an open winding? Just wonder why both parts are bad.
