Suburban stove regulator pressure

So I hooked up my manometer to my range to do a propane leak teat. It showed 13"wc after the regulator. I thought it wad supposed to be down to 10". Why would the pressure be so high on my range? Is the regulator bad? Can it be adjusted?

Triple post in the same minute! A new record.

Haha! My browser kept telling me that it failed to post. So I kept doing it, nkt realizing it really was.

Only way to have 13"WC AFTER the stove reg is for the UPSTREAM pressure to be high .....main lp reg has failed or set at 14"WC +

Stove reg should be set for 10"WC with upstream pressure set for 11"WC

Should be test port on Fridge shutoff valve that would show LP System pressure

Main System pressure must be tested/adjusted PRIOR to checking stove reg pressure

Stove reg can be adjusted//just have to remove plug in center stub

The main regulator is brand new. Maybe I need to turn down the pressure from it. I will check my fridge for the test port. Can I adjust the main regulator from the readings I get before the stove regulator?

    NO.......

Main reg has to be adjusted BEFORE checking/messing with stove reg

Using pressure reading after stove reg gives you no true reading of upstream pressure
Adjust it down so stove pressure is 10"WC and you could only have 10"WC Upstream

Adjust Main reg measuring main system pressure
Then check stove reg pressure and adjust IF needed

Ok. I will try adjusting the main regulator pressure. I will set it to 11"wc and see what the stove regulator does.

Well I adjustes the main regulator on the tanks to 11"wc. I put my manometer on the stove and it shows 11"wc when turned off, and 10"wc with a burner burning. Is this correct?
  • Thanks Old-Biscuit, I appreciate your time. I will repost with results...

  • The Suburban cooktop in my coach had a secondary regulator in it. When it started acting up I replaced it with a small residential cooktop. I don't know what the pressure is coming from the tank. I would say if your range and other gas appliances are working okay, don't worry about it.
