Video - Rare occcurance Batteries in Full Float

this is my Battery Monitor with both the PD 70 and Solar in Float mode
very rare for me
13.42 volts bottom number is the changing amps From 1.5 to zero
watch the Charging LED blink as the charging goes on off

be mindful of the fact, this RV is not in storage and there were some small fans running , what ever minor trickle Amps might have been being produced (allowed to pass thru) are being consumed

power Meter showing float mode
  • Surprised you would say that
UPS batteries spend most of their life at zero state
    or very minor milliamps charge
Other wise they would be cooked useless when it came time for them to work

I was expecting a video of a pair of batteries lying on a board in the bottom of a boat :)... but it's not all that rate for batteries to be in full float.
  • I watch the coach batteries' ammeter (mounted on the cab's dash) off and on constantly when driving down the road. Negative amps means the coach batteries are supplying current and positive amps means the coach batteries are gaining current.

After driving down the road for awhile (depending upon how low the coach batteries were after dry camping), the ammeter reaches a reading of "zero" and it bounces around that reading the rest of the time until I shut off the MH's engine.
  • It is nice to have confirmation that the system is behaving well. Here's hoping you see this more often! Thanks for all you share with us.
  • like i said VERY Rare
normally shows either a charge or discharge,
first time i've seen this since i installed the meter this meter in April

It did show zero once, which could be a glitch.
LP detector is always on, though probably 0.1A or less.
If you have some big inverter or sat receiver on standby, this draws something too.

I never see zero on my AGM. They seem to draw something even after days of floating and with all loads of.
