I have a Dometic Frig.in my Scotty Motor Home. Its a 1995 and still has the original Frig. It gas or electric. It work on gas but not electric. I ordered a board kit from Dometic and it came today. So I went out to the Motor Home and took of the cover on the board and check the fuse and took them out and clean them. They look good. Then I went in the MH and turn on the electric on the frig. IT WORK? I put water in the ice tray and we will see if it will freeze? Maybe I did not need the new board?
We don't travel as much as we use to. I guess we are getting old.I want to go out west one more time.

I have a 1990 Dometic and it is bulletproof if you keep all connections clean. This is not to say it can't or won't fail, it is just in my experience with my fridge and a lot of Servels from the 40's and on that don't have processor based boards. I've had two "failures", both were contact failures. One required replacing a corroded faston and one just cleaning stuff.

If one is not experienced with or not interested in learning trouble shooting, then the OP's decision is best with the exception of buying the board first.

Fuses do "tarnish" and contact may be lost as a result. other things can happen that can cause a fuse that LOOKS GOOD to fail.. That is why we have fuse testers.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

It takes far longer than 4 hours to get cold. Turn it on electric and run it for 24 hours before worrying.

It would be cold in 4 hrs,....not making ice, but cold.

The back of the freezer maybe, but certainly not the main box, no way, no how.

Regardless, the OP hasn't given any info, or requests for troubleshooting help, so...

I turn the frig. on yesterday and just check it today and it does not work on electric. I just made a appointment at Jones RV to have them check it out Monday. I will see what they found wrong with it.

CHECK THE ELECTRICAL HEATING ELEMENT. Follow the white pair of wires up into the chimney boiler. You need a handheld meter on the 2K ohms setting to check the element. If the meter keeps blinking a 1 at you the element blew open.

Yes it a Dodge Diesel Scotty a 1995. I just turn the Frig on and set it the coldest. Will check in 24 hours. It only has 61,000 miles and been garage kept since new and still looks new.

That is why you never just look at a fuse........you should always pull fuse, check/clean contacts (fuse & holder) then actually test that fuse will pass voltage.

5A glass fuse would be for electric element (3A for DC controls).
Does element get hot?

Many times $$ have been spent when with a little testing 'none' is needed or very little $
Is it time for your medication or mine?
