Water magicly comes and goes

Have a Dometic pedestal 111 traveler lite toilet which leakes(puddles) intermittanly. I think the water valve which is connected to foot pedal is somehow the culprit.
Is there any adjustment which can be made or do I replace everything? Had to replace it approx 2 years ago. Would have tthought it would last longer.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The water always appears below the inlet valve.
The vacuum and flapper makes sense, but there never is any water associated withthis area.
Also, noted there there was water bubbles coming from bottom of the inlet valve

Did you winterize the inlet valve........disconnect water line from valve then operate it to get water out of valve
OR pump anti-freeze thru the valve?

Sounds like inlet valve is leaking .......time to replace

Replaced the valve today. Will watch and wait to see if this solved the problem.

Thanks you all for the advise.

  • Do you have to winterize that toilet in the winter? Wondering if freezing water could be the culprit? Hard to get the water out of those valves.

  • Vacuum breakers are usually the culprit when it comes to intermittent leaks.

They have a small hole in top that gets plugged by a flapper when water flows from inlet valve to bowl. Then when water flow stops flapped drops allowing air in and water drains into bowl.

If flapper is worn out water can spurt out small hole before flapper closes it.

Vacuum breaker is at top of backside of toilet
  • Use the water pump instead of city water. You will know when it is leaking if the pump cycles on and off.
  • Sit on it, have someone else look for leaks while you are sitting on top of it. Sit on it, then remove yourself from sitting on it, all the while with someone else looking for leaks as you do so.
  • ID WHERE the leak is...then you can fix it.
Need to remove shroud and test/ID leak

Wrap TP around fittings on water supply line
Wrap TP on water valve assembly
    Wrap/lay TP on/under vacuum breaker

Then which wad of TP gets wet is the leaker

Could be bowl band is loose

hard to tell, could you get down on the floor with a light ,turn water pump on and find the leak. to determine its source.

Tried that plus paper on floor to isolate drips, etc with no luck. Today there has been no leak!
