What are my odds of the brakes working?

My fiver has been setting in the same seasonal spot for the last 3 years.  It has never been towed except from the place I purchased it to our seasonal spot.  I plan on hooking up and going to Indy in the next couple of weeks for the 500.  What do you think the odd are of the brakes working on it after sitting this long.  I connected it to the truck and the Tekonsha Prodigy that I have says they are connected and I get a voltage reading when I apply the brakes like they are working but I don't know if that means they are in fact expanding or the magnets are just showing voltage flow.

I can almost guaranty they won't work the first time you hit them! If mine sit for a long time I will manually drag the brakes a few times while doing about 25mph to blow the dust out. If after that you don't have the braking you want it might be time to adjust. I would be a bit concerened about bearings sitting that long in the same spot too. I would check them often on the first few hundred miles to see if they are getting hot or loose

After sitting for three years you are overdue for wheel bearing service.  It is easy to inspect the brakes while servicing the bearings.You might be due for tires also based on age.

Depending on what the OP did with the tires I would worry about them more.They could be over 4 years old and baked in the sun all that time

¡Holy Frijoles!A stupid AMMETER in the brake controller power wire to the brakes will INSTANTLY troubleshoot brake electrical problems AND tell you what the problem is. Too little or too much current. I did not say mechanical brake problems. However if amperage is normal and a brake doesn't work, guess where the problem is...
