- Old-BiscuitExplorer III
- -Oz-ExplorerOld-Biscuit's post is accurate. I have both (one in each vehicle). My wife can easily understand the P3 (its english with pictures) but never had an issue with just seeing numbers with the P2 (aka it worked so she didn't care).
The only thing i will say is I kind of like that when the trailer isn't connected my P2 is just a blank screen with a dot. The P3 is always lit up telling me it is there and ready if I connect a trailer.
The difference was ~$10 on Amazon so that is why I went with the P3 for the second vehicle. They can be swapped easily (same harness). - RoyBExplorer III had the P2 since 2008 and worked flawlessly... When I got the new truck in 2010 it came with built-in controller so my P2 went back into the box...
Now days every time we pull up at a stop sign and I have to hold the OEM SLIDE lever to hold my trailer brakes ON I always wish I was still using the P2 haha...
The Ford OEM Controlled is so embedded with the truck computers it disengages from the brake pedal when the truck speedometer is less than 10MPH I think it is...
Old habits are to break I reckon - At least I can still lock down at a stop sign using my right hand instead.
