what my Norcold refrigerator is doing & not doing

I just finished a week long battle with my Norcold N811. It just wasn't cooling good enough. For example, on this trip it could barely hold 40 degrees with the door closed all night.

The TT is only 9 months old. But since I've had it, sometimes the frig has worked great, other times not. You can already guess what the dealer told me, as well as all the things I tried.

Long story short - the main door seal wasn't sealing in the lower right corner. The dollar bill test? I discovered I could push a bill right into the frig. The seal was catching on a molded in corner brace, because the door was mounted too low. It obviously came this way from the factory.

I hadn't checked this before because it's not like this was an old frig with an obviously worn out seal.

Anyway, I fixed it by shimming the door up with nylon washers on the lower left hinge stud. Now it can hold 35 degrees on an 85 degree day on middle setting.

Norcold's cooling system defrosts itself every 46 hours or so. Not defrosting the freezer, just the cooling system. This is hard programmed so it can't be changed. The freezer temp will increase into the teens then head back down. Mine settles in at approx 8 degrees.
