XG- SF 2000 Generator Advise
Hi:
I am looking for a used light duty, AC is not an issue, generator and came across a Powertek XG- SF 2000 generator ($175 asking).
The specs say is is not the world's best unit and it is a bit larger than I wanted, but the price removes these objections and it sounds like he bought it as a 'good idea' and then it has only been used very minimally.
Anyone have any experience with one of these? Google search comes back with several manufacturers of the same model number with the pictures and spec looking similar with colour being the major change .... hum.
I have never bought a generator, likely going to look at it tomorrow. Besides the obvious like starting it and looking for smoke or dirty oil what should I be looking for? I could not find a reference to any hour meter or the like.
If it has been used as little as the guy says, 3 or 4 weekends, I would assume the oil should still look pristine. Is that reasonable?
Any and all comments appreciated.
