We are new to TT's and after I saw a post in another thread about a 12 volt kill switch, I realized I have no idea if our TT has one. I have not seen any switches that I don't know what their purpose is, so my question would be if all TT's have one or does it just depend on the manufacturer?

These are usually found in POPUP that have fold-over cabinets etc and when you get the unit ready for travel they want to keep you from having the hot ceiling lights from being left on accidentally which might catch something on fire.Alot of trailers especially the motorhome it seems have a kill switch located in a good spot readily available to use...I myself have a battery disconnect switch that I installed myself to totally disconnect my batteries from the system when being stored at home etc...If you think you have such a thing and can't find it then call the manf with your trailer VIN NUMBER and ask them...just my thoughtsRoy Ken

We have had a battery disconnect on our Mobile Suites 5th wheel and after that our Open Range Roamer. All came with it installed new.

AFAIK, TT's do not have a disconnect switch as delivered from factory. There may be a few models that have one but haven't heard of it. It is a fairly easy retrofit.

It's next to the breaker panel, underneath the fridge. I believe that all the Rockwood TT's have them, not sure starting what year of production ...

Our Newmar has a big red handled switch in the fuse box that disconnects everything but the jacks. Used for storage to make sure you have eliminated all parasitic draws that can kill batteries. I open my fantastic fans and then switch it off when putting the fiver in storage.

A disconnect near the batteries will do the same thing.

I have never owned a PU, TT or FW that did not have a battery disconnect switch come preinstalled.
