120 days and counting

120 days and counting in my 22' trailer.

June 1 onsite.

I started running my generator to run a baseboard heater before bed.....but other than than I have survived with 2 40W solar panels charging my 2 6V batteries.
I'm in the process of building a house North of Montreal. One of the rules is that you need a porta pottie onsite.
So I've been using that.....thus the trailer hasn't moved.
I get my water from the lake and dump my gray water behind the trailer.
All good....but I have another 6 weeks to go.......brrrr.....

    Bales of hay will help keep the wind down and hold the day's heat in.

    Two 40 watt solar panels in Ontario?

    At least one watt for each battery amp hour but in Ontario at least times 1.5.

    Adequate batteries, adequate solar panels...no generator needed.

    Who's asking?

    Most of my camping is fair weather.

    Running my generator for 1 hr before bed when it's 30F doesn't equate to more batteries and more solar panels.

    The objective of a solar system is not to need a generator except for AC. The failure of an inadequate solar system is proven by the need to run your generator every day for an hour.

    Good news is....I've roughly calculated how many days I've camped in the trailer since acquiring it 5 years ago, divided by purchase price, and I'm down to $55 a night.
    LOL.
