1995 golden falcon

Looking at a 30ft. golden falcon tt w/1so. Have had motorhomes but no tt. any info you can give me besides them going out business in 2007. Thanks for any help.
  • I can still get most parts for my 1993 TT even though the company is out of business. The things that break are like fridge / stove / furnace / water heater / etc. and all of the those company's are still in business. The only thing on mine that has me worried is parts for the Emerson roof mount AC. Emerson is still in business but, the no longer build roof mount AC's. Thankfully is still working just fine and no parts have been needed.
  • I wouldn't worry about parts. I don't think I can even still order new parts for my 2005 keystone. Plus, the parts that break most often are universal.

30' trailer in general it a lot of a half ton. Seams like the f-150 with the payload package can tow a lot though.
  • Check the weight, but I doubt most ½t would work. The newer ½t, that are built for heavy towing would work, but make sure it has the load capacity, the GCWR to do the job and a built in brake controller. Ours was a 24' model and the dry weight was 6800# with a GWR of 9700#, IIRC. Our current ½t would have done the job, but nothing we had back then would have. I would imagine a 30' model would be up there in weight.

Body parts, yes, but how often do you need a new RV body part..?.. Everything else is standard RV parts and can be easily bought most anywhere.
  • Right now ihave a 1ton van 454 but might switch to a pickup. Would a 1/2 ton work? Ithought it looked well built. Would there be any problems getting parts?
  • We had a 99 Golden Falcon 5th wheel and it was by far, the BEST trailer we ever owned. It is solid and very very easy to work on. The DW has said many times that she wished we still had it. They were built in ON Canada and are a good 4 season unit.
  • What will you be towing it with? Hopefully you can get some weights on the trailer. If your tv is well matched, towing is not a problem. If you're underpowered, it can also be very little fun, or downright dangerous.
