2015 GM HD trucks use carryover engines/trans.
The 6.2L is all aluminum and I would be surprised if it ever makes it into the HD. I expect GM to use the same tricks, or design/tech, on the current 6.0L as they used on the 2014 5.3L and 6.2L in half tons to bump power by about 15%.
GM's 6.0L has had the lowest power output of the HD gas trucks since it launched in 2007.5. Ford had the V10, then 6.2L. Ram the 5.7L and now 6.4L. Despite this, all comparison tests show it is still competitive. It is nearly bulletproof, cheap to maintain, and reasonable on fuel.
