2000 dodge transmission experts
I have a 2000 Dodge 2500 5.9 Cummins Diesel 47Re transmission on it's way out. 165,000 miles on the clock. Used mostly to pull a 5er 3 to 4 thousand miles per year and 1 to 2 thousand without the 5er....

What T&P probably meant since your tranny has that much mileage on it, a rebuilt transmission from Goerend or Suncoast might be the most cost effective way to approach it. Totally rebuilt, with a valve body & TC better than the factory OEM. And, they both include such refinements as an improved 1-2 shift lever which is a known problem with the 47RE.
But........at a minimum I would consider the valve body and TC from either company as a good (and not terribly costly) upgrade if you don't want the cost of a completely rebuilt tranny.
