2010 Ford Super Duty

buddy of mine owns a diesel performance shop....hes made plenty of money bullet proofing 6.0/6.4

Keep looking. The 7.3 was a great motor I know I had 4 of them and still have a 1999 crew cab sitting in the driveway that runs like it did on day one but none of them can hold a candle to the 6.7 !! I have a F350 with the 6.7 I would never buy a 6.4 - 6.0 or 7.3 when there is the 6.7 .....which IMO will become the best diesel motor Ford ever put in a truck. Good luck.

7.3 liter. bulletproof with proper maintenance
6.0 and 6.4 problems problems problems
6.7 no personal experience but everyone ive talked to at campgrounds love them.

Yes, I look at the 6.0 and 6.4 Powerstrokes as "enthusiasts" trucks. If you have the enthusiasm to fix the inequities of them, they are good engines. But unlike most others, they require semi major surgery to get into the same reliability realm as others do bone stock.

Run Forest run. Let someone else enjoy that truck.

My buddy used to drive a 6.4L, we installed a rack, diamondback tonneau and railings for kayak mount and for other stuff he hauls. Though he never had issues on emission, he complained about the low mpg. He's happy with his new Tundra now.

You will pay more for a Dmax or Cummins but you can spend the money upfront or put it into the black hole of the 6.4 and never have anything more for your money. I don't know the Cummins but the Dmax trucks of the same vintage are good trucks. If your sold on Ford your better off with a 6.7 than a 6.4 even though you will have to pay more for it.

This is the best advice; the 6.4L was a terrible engine. We have several of them at my work and every one has had expensive issues and terrible fuel economy.

As well, a colleague of mine at work has a 2008 with the 6.4L; the fuel system grenaded on it and a couple of years later the engine blew. He has since had a Cummins 6.7L transplanted into the truck because he really likes the truck itself.

Personally I would run from that truck.
