Also, keep in mind that your fridge even though it's a 3 way, still needs 12V power from the battery in every mode to run it's internal electronics.
Not all the pop-up fridges need 12V. Mine is very basic 3-way with zero electronics; not even an internal light. Most low-wall pups I've seen come with this type. All control is achieved by two dials and two switches accessed from the outside:
- When using propane there's four possible settings controlled by the gas dial; off, high, medium, and low. The settings determine the size of the flame, thus the amount of "cooling" achieved.
- When on 120Vac (green switch ON), there is a mechanical thermostat dial with settings from 1 to 7.
- When on 12Vdc (red switch ON), the heater is on at a constant output. It does not have a thermostat.
One thing to check for is 120Vac voltage at the fridge.
- Make sure all breakers are ON, the GFCI is ON, and you have power at an internal receptacle.
- Open the fridge access door on the exterior, and look for a receptacle. It will look like the ones in a sticks & bricks house. It probably will only accept a single plug. Remove the plug for the fridge and check for voltage between the two slots.
- If no voltage, check between each slot and the ground pin.
- If still nothing, get an electrician to help.
