2015 F150 cab issues

I went in search of info about the new 10 speed transmissions that are supposed to show up in a year or two and instead came across a bunch of complaints of bad wind noise, misaligned, rattling doors, and ill fitting windshields. Read all about it on F150Forum.com.

You would be surprised what a few loudmonth malcontents can achieve .
I have seen a few misaligned bumpers (pictures at a dealer) ,Ford is not allowing dealer to fix it until they understand it.

That is true for the most part. But there are many other components that go into sealing all vehicles. My friend that works for Chrysler constantly needs to go to the factories during the first year of production of a new vehicle to tweak the process. The way the weather stripping, wind lace and other items go on can make the difference between a nice quiet ride or an annoying whistle or rattle.
  • I dunno... Fit and finish should not be a challenge. One individual said they sent him to a body shop because there was no more adjustment left in the door. Hope it's not related to them being aluminum.

How many years have auto manufacturers been building their respective products? One would think they would have decent product, what with all the expensive tooling, the "proud" union workers, the robotics and lastly the price they charge for the end product! But then I haven't seen a square corner in a house when installing floor coverings either and we've been building shelters for how long? :h
  • I would expect a few issues at this point, but they should get worked out over time. It is a significant change.
