From what I understand, car companies are lining up to reserve capacity with aluminum rolling mills. Capacity doesn't come online quickly, or cheaply, and it will take years to convert one model line to aluminum now that Ford has bought the available supply.
It's a great time to be in the aluminum rolling business, a few years ago it sucked.
