I purchased this slightly used truck two years ago and ran the VIN to see the sticker. I did not pay too much attention and just now noticed that under optional equipment that they added larger wheels LT275/70R18E OWL ALL TERRAIN, 3.31 ELECTRONIC LOCKING AXLE, and 10000# GVWR Package among other options. The standard 2015 F250 Diesel allows me to pull my 12,300 GVW 5th wheel close to its limits. Does the Optional equipment beef up my truck a bit??? Thanks

Looking at Fords body builders spec website show the '15 F250 6.7 diesel 3.31 gears can tow a 15100 up to a 16600 lbs 5th wjeel/GN trailer.
The only 12xxx lbs I see on their specs pages is for a 6.2 gas std cab.

Fords F250/F350 SRW share the same platform other than the rear spring pack (7000 RAWR vs 6100 RAWR).
If your F250 has the camper package or heavy servise option it has the same spring package.

Your F250 won't have any issues carrying a 13xxx GVWR trailer pin weight or pulling a trailer up to that 16600 lb number.
If it sags more than you like simply add rear air bags or another aftermarket suspension product.

Looks like the standard tires, wheels and axle ratio to me, nothing was beefed up. A 3.55 ratio was an option with the snow plow package or 20" wheels. The 20" wheels with a 3.55 ratio is about the same as the 18" and 3.31 axle.

Your 2015/2016 (whichever it is you have both listed) is good up to 14K 5th wheel

Your 250 is similar in ratings to my old 07 3500

I tow 14K 5th wheel (13873scaled weight)
Over on trucks GVWR at RAWR and Rear Tire load ratings.
Your 18" give you a bit more in load rating but stay at/under RAWR

And I'm one of the 'weight police' :B
Is it time for your medication or mine?

Then soon the RV.net weight police will arrive with gloom and doom

Enjoy the truck.

The tires/wheel upgrade would be similar to 350 T/W. The 10K GVWR is max for class 2 series trucks, and is actually causing the trucks low payload. Your door sticker payload is figured from the truck wt as it left the factory, subtracted from 10K. Your truck is more capable than it appears.
