2018 Dodge and B&W

The hitch you have will not work with the OEM ball. You may as well just sell it and upgrade to the 3600, to direct fit the pucks.

Compared to the new FW, and maybe new truck, a new hitch will just seem like change out of pocket! :)

BTW, it's a RAM as there is no such thing starting with the 2013 model year as a Dodge truck.

Does this possible new to you truck have factory rear air and AISIN??? If not I would keep looking. 2018 is a good year!

Yes, the new-to-us truck has the Aisin 6-speed, but not sure about the air ride. We're looking at the Tradesman model to keep the costs down. About $10,000-$15,000 difference between them and the same year Laramie. And I'm a cheap bastid. I will be getting the puck mounted B&W hitch for sure. Don't want to lose my membership in the B&W club. :) And the new one would put me in the heavy weight club.

That truck has a 14,000 GVWR. Sounds like a beast. Not as beasty as the new ones, but a whole lot cheaper. :)

Yeah, you got that right, Jerry. :)

Really no difference in the new ones VS the one you are looking at but a bit more HP/TQ. So you are looking at a DRW then as that is a 14k GVWR. Simply put that is a BS number that keeps the tuck in Class 3 for insurance and licensing purposes. FACT is my unloaded front axle is around 5,250#. Now ad that to the SAE RAWR of 9,750#. HMMMMMMM, that equals 15k. simply buy the tonnage that is correct for your truck and forget the GVWR and go by the SAE axle ratings.

Yeah, just comparing the 14,000 GVWR of the new truck to the 10,400 GVWR of the old truck. :)

Can confirm, you're not gaining any real world added capability or meaningfully heavier components in the '19+ trucks.
Couple more ponies, a nicer screen on the dash and some minimal "improvements" combined with potentially large headache if you got a CP4 equipped model.
2015/16 through 2018 is still a very viable, top of the heap truck.
If it's a Tradesman, likely it doesn't have air assist. Not sure how I feel about it, not having had one, but I do know that it can't possibly be more versatile, simpler or trouble free (potentially) than a big ole set of leaf springs.
