2020 Super duty front hitch

Looking for a solution that uses the front tow hooks. Years ago there was a thread here-someone may have fabbed it?

Anyone remember that thread?

Anyone got any ideas/pics?

Thx, Bill
  • I used the Bodiak system in my last truck, a Chevy. Very stable even on our trip to Ak. Unfortunatly they don't fit my Ram. So they sit in my garage along with the custom made basket.:(
  • From the high hitch I had on 2006 model, it is pretty primitive design.
Not much welding, but shaping the plates for hooks bolts will take some time.
You are not saying what you plan to use it for, but single hitch for cargo platform don't work very well.
So if that is your goal, I would fabricate dual or triple hitch.

That’s the one I was trying to think of!

They are no longer in business.

I have started to fab my own.

TL does make the new “Eco-Hitch” that some Folks are using on Superdutys. I understand the 2020’s require quite a bit of surgery...
  • Someone said in the last week or so here that they have a 2020 Ford hitch that’s up high in the bumper. I’d look for one of those if you are trying to get a higher mount.

  • Check Curt and check Torklift.
I bought Curt for my 2017 Superduty and it is mounted low to the frame.
Had to remove lower trim to avoid cutting.
I have seen TL made hitch that mounts on hooks bolts. Had that type on 2006 Superduty.
Each design has it positive and negative sides, but low hitch work perfect for carrying my Honda 3000. No restriction to cooling air and I mounted my generator 3/4" from the bumper.
Than I have to pay attention crossing a ditch.
  • If you are open to a solution not using the tow hooks, I'm sure you can find a front-mounted hitch receiver at e-Trailer.com.
