- krobbeExplorerYes you can. For the 6.0L, def get it with the 4.10 rear. An 8.1L will do it better. Mine pulled my 34ft (7000lb) TT with the stock OEM hitch receiver and Equal-I-zer hitch around the Michigan U.P and then to Ohio's Hawking Hills very easily. For under $200 I replaced the receiver with a class5 Curt in 20min for my trip to the Great Northwest this summer.
My Burb is driven for towing and weekend duties. I love driving it. Even towing I'm relaxed and enjoying the drive. The mileage is 11mpg around town, 9-9.5 towing. The 6.0L will have better mpg when not towing. But worse when towing.
If an 8.1 comes up for sale with lower mileage(under 110,000) they go quick. So act fast. - mhsmithExplorerI pulled my 32ft. TT with a '98 suburban 1500. Had the 5.7 in it. Should I have ...probably not but it is what I had at the time. You should do fine. I was at my limit on the truck, just took things slower than most. Got us over the Smokey's and back..once. Not willing to try a second time.
- BurbManExplorer IIDefinitely do-able. Your max tow rating with that drivetrain is 10,000 lbs. GCWR is probably 16,000. Our rig is 8500 lbs loaded, 1200 lbs on the tongue, and with 4 passengers and full fuel we are right at the 8600 GVWR. Managing tongue weight to stay under the GVWR of the burb is an issue. If you plan on towing with more than 4 passengers or pack lots of cargo in the rear I would say get a smaller trailer.
Two things, first replace the OEM receiver on the burb,m it flexes and can stress crack when running with a WD under a heavy load like this and 2 get a good hitch like the Hensley or ProPride 3P to manage the trailer. The burb has a 130" wheelbase, same as a reg cab long bed pickup.
Trailer in my sig is 32' to give you an idea. - PAThwackerExplorerNotice how my rig was towing a ultra light weight 5000lb gvw hybrid bunkhouse. I was 1000lbs below the GCWR.

Maximum towing capacity: 12000 lbs.
Maximum payload: 2737 lbs.
Gross weight: 8600 lbs.
Curb weight: 5863 lbs.
If this information is correct I would say you could safely tow the right 32' TT. Just keep it under all the ratings. - PAThwackerExplorerHere is my 10 year old burb, post corporate owned, loaded heavy and towing light.
Family of 4, 2 kids in car seats (center buckets, and 94lb lab on back bench. Rear of sub had floor to ceiling gear, and roof had 175lbs of toys. I had cat scaled that trip IIRC the sub weighed 8000lbs and the trailer axles were 3,000lbs. - APTExplorerThere are plenty of 3/4 ton Suburbans towing around 32'+ TTs. The length is not an issue. Weight is. A 32' TT can weight under 5000 pounds or over 10000. I would no recommend 10k for your Suburban, but I would 5000. Your favorites are likely in the middle.

The 12000 pounds tow rating is with the 8.1L, and it does not have 2700 pounds of payload. Right at 2000 for the 4WD 8.1L, and about 2300 for 4WD 6.1L. My newer body style is 2051 with 6.0L and same 8600 pound GVWR.
Your tow rating is about 9500 pounds I think. You have plenty of payload, chassis, brakes, etc to handle that weight. IMHO, 10k loaded TT would not be fun from an acceleration point of view. The gearing of the trans even with 4.10 is not enough for me. My prior TV had similar torque and trans gearing. It was ok for my 6500-7000 pound loaded TT. Aerodynamics are a big problem with RVing. IT takes a lot of power to maintain 65mph on flat land, thus the 7-10mpg all we gassers get. Then you get to a hill and want some reserve power to hold some speed. Or you find that uphill interstate on-ramp and can't break 40mph at the end of the ramp. :( But that part is subjective. - fx2tomExplorerI have a 32 ft that I tow with an F150, all within weight limits. If my F150 is Ok, I would assume that a 3/4 ton Suburban would be OK. You have substantially more payload than I do. Double check your weights but sounds like you should be Ok
- camperpaulExplorerThis works for me ...
- PAThwackerExplorerIs it a 32ft long box or a 28ish bunkhouse variant? I have specked mine to be able to tow to 5500 to 6300 max dry weight campers.
