- PAThwackerExplorerhhm I have a 6.0 3.73 k2500 2004 Sub
Payload as equipped 2351
It weighs 6300lbs wet. - ib516Explorer IINot insane. Just need all the data to make sure it works. TT GVWR would be a good start.
I agree with the comment that you might want to replace the OEM "quick disconnect" receiver hitch.... - springfield5ExplorerAs long as you stay within the specs of your Suburban, I say go for it. Otherwise whether or not you can or cannot tow it is in the eye of the beholder. I tow 36' with my 2500 Suburban (8.1) and I am sure many would say I am crazy. I have towed this trailer from Ohio to the Florida Keys and South Carolina several times. I would recommend swapping the receiver as others have mentioned and a good quality WD hitch with sway control. I recently stepped up to a ProPride for the added security but the Equal-i-zer did good as well.
Good luck with your search! - dmopar74ExplorerThis help?
Maximum towing capacity: 12000 lbs.
Maximum payload: 2737 lbs.
Gross weight: 8600 lbs.
Curb weight: 5863 lbs. - fla-gypsyExplorerIt will be a payload question. What is the payload for your Burb?
- dmopar74ExplorerWell a quick search showed a 91 32ft Dutchman weighed 4980 empty. My 83 Layton weighs that much loaded but I bet I could pack another 1000lbs atleast onto the 32 loaded. I would defy update the hitch as I need to anyways.
- Captain_ObviousExplorerThe 2500 Suburban is a pretty good towing platform. The only thing a 1 ton diesel will get you is more power and more payload. If the trailer you have in mind is within what the 6.0 can tow, then go for it.
X2 on not using the stock receiver. The stock receivers of that era were total trash. When used with weight distribution systems they are prone to flexing and breaking. - Rolling_CondoExplorer III tow my 34' with my 2500 Burb.
(See my signature) - carringbExplorerIt may work, just depends on the trailer (tongue weight in particular) and how the 'burb will be loaded when towing. I would not do it with the stock hitch receiver however.

Please explain to me why you think anyone is OK towing a 32' trailer with a ¾t truck, but he is insane to tow it with a ¾ Suburban??? The last time I checked, a ¾t 2004 Burb was built on the SAME chassis and running gear as a ¾t truck.dmopar74 wrote:
2004 suburban 2500 6.0 4.10 gears 4x4. Am I insane to want a 32ft trailer?
You are not insane to want a 32' trailer.
You are insane to tow it with a Suburban.
