X2 what OAKLEVEL says...
Just looking at the receptacles on the campground pedestals. The 30AMP one is all worn out and some even with burn marks. Right next to it ia an almost brand new looking 50AMP connection. Will use it evertime...
As you can see from this DMBRUSS drawing of the 50A-30A long DOGBONE type adapter only one leg of the 50AMP Service is being used feeding your 30AMP trailer.
Additionally we always run an 20AMP extension cord from the 20AMP Service connection at the camp ground pedestal to run our outside items and inside 1500WATT Portable oil-filled Electrical heater when being used. This does not draw from the 30A or 50A side of the pedestal connections and gives me more power without tripping my 30A Main breaker in my POPUP.
Both our local WALMARTS carry the 50A-30A long dogbone adapters in the camping section.
