75 cents per gal today in Phoenix, 20% higher diesel

I would think the fuel sales should be over soon. I'm so glad I got a gas model RV again. I feel sorry for boys who just can't do the math and end up with the high cost of RVing. Then all those high dollar parts and brake shoes. They say the diesel will climb to over $5.00 soon.
So big a world, so little time to see.

yup and attacking people's engine choice sure is one way to get 'em riled up. Just look at the 2nd post in the thread....

I wasn't riled up...just pointing out if you are a smart shopper you can find diesel pricing that is low....relatively low.
You read into my post. I've seen too many of Suercharged posts to get riled.

Oh, I wasn't talking about your post, apparently, the one I was referring to got moderated into oblivion. Sorry about the confusion.

Yes, but:

Hizzoner Supercharged uses that alcohol-fueled mania to produce things of real beauty: completely ridiculous threadtopics that invariably generate page after page of further inanity.

Can you say the same?

I. Think. Not.

Wait till next summer to see how close gas prices are to diesel. Probably be about the same. I've never seen gas prices drop in summer. They always go up.

I recently found this receipt and was shocked. Certainly, not $0.75, but surprising none the less when you look at the date. ๐Ÿ™‚

Wow, that is just a few years before the Republicans would not make the OIL MEN raise their right hand!

Here is a price chart to play around with.

Who remembers the gas wars of the early 70's?
Hate to admit I do when, as a young pup in Flint, MI I saw corner gas stations competing such that they got down to 6c/gallon. I filled up for a buck!
Then again, when the prices jumped back up to normal it was 36c/gallon and boy, did we think that was expensive!

I bought a diesel for tow capacity AND the fact that I'll still drive it when it has 200k miles on the engine.

Nothing untrue about what you said, but for a modern gasoline truck engine, 200k miles is nothing.

I remember when I was a kid, often motors were tired and wheezing at 75k miles and it was almost rare to see one untouched over 100k miles. Times have certainly changed for the better.

I remember back in the '60's...valve jobs were done on engines...not unusual back then.

Vehicles always had to have spring and winter tune ups...points and plugs, check the timing, adjust the carb. Modern day technology has done away with that stuff.

I recall carrying a screwdriver in the car...wasn't unusual to have to take the air cleaner off , stick the screw driver into the carb to jam open the 'butterfly' valve (as we called it)...to get a flooded engine to start....particularly in the winter.

Geez...am I happy to have fuel injection. :B

I recall filling up in Grand Forks, North Dakota...around 1968....regular gas was going for 26 cents a gallon.

Good thing as my car back then was a '67 Camaro RS coupe, 327 V8, 4 speed....it was a thirsty beast.

Might of been because I drove with a lead foot, back then.... when I was a callow youth. ๐Ÿ™‚
