AC questions

Is there a simple answer as to why when the Ac compressor kicks on there is a good thud that can be felt inside? I have checked the mounts and can't find any issues there.

What causes a harmonic pulsing kind of sound when the compressor runs?

Is it possible to slow down the blower speed to reduce inside noise?

Thanks Bill

The frequencies of the various vibrations from the multiple motors can interact to create annoying harmonics. Good engineering and testing can reduce them but we don't see much of that. The AC on my Northern Lite is the noisiest I have ever had, both inside and outside the TC
  • Pull off the cover and have someone turn it on while you are on the roof. Slowing down the fan may cause the coil to ice up.
  • The compressor mounts in rubber grommets. Either the grommets have lost their elasticity or a mount is loose or the base plate is broken.
