Aliner or Chalet owners ?

Hi I am thinking about buying an Aliner Expedition. I am in the Norristown, Pa. area at the moment. I would love to Chat with anyone who owns an A frame trailer who might be in the area.

Can i buy you a cup of coffee and pick your brain ? You pick the place.

I would so appreciate it. I have never done any camping before but i love the A frames. It would help alot to talk with someone thats familiar with these campers.

send me a private message if you would like to.
thanks so much.

They can be stored in the storage areas below the dinette benches, or in the sofa/bed storage areas.

For watching, they can be placed on the counter, or, you can install a stand as I have here. Understanding you've mentioned an Expedition, you probably don't have much counter space, but I have an Aliner Scout and had the sink and refrigerator removed to allow for additional counter and storage space.

I put my tv/dvd player in the rear bubble over the bed. The top is hinged so the bottom swings out while in use to make a vertical viewing surface. The drapes hold in place and out of the way while travelling and when not in use.

My television rides on the counter. When traveling I lay it on its face and put a strap over it. When we setup, I undo the strap and set it upright. I also have a flat panel omnidirectional antenna mounted on an upper wall which always stays in place while in use or traveling.

You might want to check out the Aliner Owners Club.

    thanks for the info....
i have a 32 inch TV flat screen i inherited from a dead relative ...
i know its kind of big for use in an aliner but.... if i can make it work i would like to. just need to find a place for it somehow. lol

  • We took Chalet on 2 long trips (Alaska and Oregon/Washington) and it worked out just fine for the 2 of us. We made some modifications: left cushions at home and replaced it with a good futon mattress so bed was up all the time. We made new shorter dinette cushions and DH made a wood cabinet which spanned the front with 2 sliding doors instead of the factory storage cabinet on the floor. Under one dinette cushion, we kept a porta potty for emergencies. We eventually traded it off for a travel trailer and I miss that little Chalet. With it, we went camping on a moments notice and now it's harder to do that, but the new one has a real bathroom and a full size refrigerator which is nice too.

    Hi,

My buddy had one and he really liked it. I worked on it once, there was a spider web in the refrigerator gas pipe, and I cleared it out to get a normal flame.

You really can set it up in 90 seconds. It is tight inside on a windy night. You do not need to dry it off before putting it away. (like a pop up tent camper)

He towed it with a 1/2 ton Dodge truck, but you don't need something that heavy duty. They have several models now, some have a bathroom now. His did not.

    Good Luck,

thanks for the post Fred. I really like the A frame. I spent the better part of today looking one over and decided it was what i needed but i have ALOT of questions.

i guess i can start asking them here.
since i dont have any RV experience..... i have to ask about everything.
Like..... where do people put their TV's in such a compact trailer ?

    thanks

    Fred.
