That is the place I bought my replacement awning fabric from... although I only purchased the standard fabric.

This is where I got mine and I am in their area so I had them install it also. Good company to deal with. They also converted my manual to a electric awning at a later date.

Since I think that will be the expensive part I want to wait to do it all at the same time.

Oh and I have a mod to help save the awning from tearing and losing the whole thing going down the road...

Stay away from camping world, as they will replace the entire assembly. You and a couple of friends can replace your awning fabric for ~$150, give or take. Did mine a few years ago.

As far as the alumaguard, I haven't seen a source for it, but I imagine there's one out there somewhere. A lot of people fashion their own guard out of pvc gutter and keep it on the awning when not in use. When ready to travel, they take it off and travel. When it gets parked again, the gutter goes right back on. Works pretty well.

Is it sad that I recognized the trailer and then looked at the name?
I don't know why someone does not make the aluminum cover that has male and female grooved parts that will attach to a standard awning.

So My Mod:
On this trailer awning, there are only the cheap plastic clips that hold the arms together while traveling.




And the problem that I have is that the upper end shakes a lot, the roll moves back and forth from the trailer, even with the knob tightened and the plastic clip engaged. This movement I think is what is causing the failure of the fabric at the track where the fabric slides in.

My previous trailer had a aluminum bracket, and a pin that held the two arms together. **This is not my original idea** SO while looking for the old model awning so I can maybe purchase the bracket to hold the Square Lock Pin in place. While searching I found where someone added a hose around the pin. I added the tubing to the pin and the wire, then bent the wire in a little more to hold it in place.
Take a look:


It fits Tight. I then move it up as far as I can reach.



This holds the arms TIGHT! And it does not allow for the bars to move much. In fact, it now does not stress the fabric at all, so mission accomplished.

Seems like a straight forward purchase, and easier to navigate than other sites.

I stopped by Camping World on the way home, they gave me an estimate of $700 to $900, BUT they said it would be the whole unit including the roll...

I did not get a truthful feeling from the guys though...

I told the wife and she said I have to wait a little. We'll see.




If anyone else has any info, I would love it.

A couple of campers I know that have the alumaguard awning protectors swear by them. They highly recommended them. I do not know the price and don't know the people well enough to ask the cost.

I have done exactly what you are wanting to do. I also had the same problem with the sun in Mexico baking the top strip next to the roof. At the same time I updated the fabric to the deluxe cloth type. That was about 10 years ago and I have not had ANY more problems since. My awning fabric looks as good as the day I bought it. Do it and you will be happy!

I just replaced my awning fabric because of the same reasons you mentioned. The fabric where it connects to the TT, was starting to "crack" or show signs of wear to where it needed replaced because of those areas. However, when I was removing the old fabric, I was surprised at how the fabric started cracking everywhere as the fabric was manipulated from being removed.

You can get new awning fabric for about $150 but depends on the size and type of fabric.
