Am I missing something....Ford crew cab rear seat?

Have a '17 F350 XLT CC that's 60/40 split. The 40 portion seat back will tilt forward along w/ seat bottom will tilt up. The 60 side of things, well that's a lil different. The seat bottom will tilt up, BUT I do not see any pull tab to have seat back tilt forward. This stinks as I don't know why it wouldn't and it should to gain some add'l storage behind seat. Am I missing or not seeing something to get it to tilt?

That latch goes all the way back to the 09 F150. I had a 12 that had it, my last truck had it, and now the 16 has it, and the SD went to all aluminum in 17 by using the F150 cab and consolidating the lines with the same interior pieces. You would think it would lower costs, but heck no! That Aluminum is not cheap to use or produce.

I found that raising the seat bottom up a bit slides the back down and out enough to reach in and release the factory latch. I drilled a hole in it , slipped a wire through the hole, and fastened a hoop strap to it. All it cost was time.

i'm gonna do the same thing.

bikendan-- it's only 33 bucks, not 66 bucks.

i would need one for each side. i have a 2014 Super Crew.

The passenger side should have one on there from Ford. The jack and lug wrench are stored behind that seat so Ford made them accessible. Here is a photo of the Ford factory installed release on the passenger side rear seat back of my 2017 supercab.

As I said in my post you quoted, I have a 2014 Super Crew, not a 2017.
The 2014 SC jack is located by lifting the rear seats, then unscrewing 2 wingnuts and sliding the jack box over.

It is not accessed by folding the seat back down.

That's why I would need two Bullrights to lower each seatback.

Travelinman--I think it may have todo w/ types of interior pkg you get as to wether or not you get the rear center armrest. My '15 XLT had it, but not the '17.

The passenger side has the latch from Ford because the jack and lug wrench are behind that seat back.

I have a 2017 F250 CC and had the same question.

Here is the solution BuiltRight Industries

Made in the USA, quality product, web site has a video that shows everything you need to know. Also available on Amazon.

Yes, there is a lot of storage behind that seat. This release latch is very well made and the installation is only a one beer job :B

You will notice the on the back of the seat, the covering material is slightly different than the other side and it has some sharp framing that I covered with Edge Trim.

By watching the video you will be able to release the seat back and check it all out before buying the release latch.

Good luck

This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ is what I have done. Here is a photo of the latch on the back of my driver's side rear seat back and the emergency equipment I keep stored behind there:

I did the exact same thing, I put stuff behind there for easy access from the drivers side.. My particular configuration is similar to Bobbo's, there is quite a bit of room. Funny, the passenger side has a latch from the factory and I never open it, but the drivers side seems to be used often 🙂

Nah, I just reach my hand behind the seat on the F250. My f150 is a little tighter though.

To me, the Bullright Industries seat pull setup is nice but not worth $66 to me.

THANKS for the link!!!!!! Will be ordering this today. Just don't understand why Ford did away w/ it. Had it on my '03 and '15 trucks along w/ center armrests. '17---no rear center armrest OR 60 seatback tilt. NOT one of Ford's better ideas IMO.

My 2017 has a center arm rest in the back seat.

I think they removed the standard latch release to reduce the likelihood of improper latching, since that section has the seatbelt for the center position.
