- CampingfoolsExplorerI'd say it depends on the brand. Our dealer installed an EZ-Lift that only lasted three years. The threads on the star wheel adjuster rusted away so the head tilt adjustment could no longer be made. Both the threads in the platform and star wheel "disappeared" so it could not be repaired easily. Replaced it with a Blue Ox which doesn't require the separate friction anti-sway bar.

When they get noisy, does the anti sway effect get reduced?
My first Anderesen went about 18k miles and no issue. Sold it with the trailer. So thinking heavier the coach the more wear? Is it easy to replace the friction material?
I would think that the more tongue weight, the more wear.
I replaced the cone in about 5 minutes. I also turned the ball 180 degrees.
I don’t remember seeing or feeling any real difference between the old cone and the new one. They are different colors. The old one was red and the new one is black. - hvacExplorerWhen they get noisy, does the anti sway effect get reduced?

Curious when the Andersen will wear put. I have odd imprint on the ball. I guess the friction material will wear at some point, time will tell.
My Andersen cones have been good for about 7000 miles then they start to deteriorate and and get noisy. - gmw_photosExplorerThe trunnions on my BlueOx are captured in the head, and are lubed with grease zerks. I'm getting close to 60K miles of use out of this hitch now, and it is the same as it was when new. I've had to touch up the paint in a couple of places, and I hit the zerks with the grease gun periodically.
- AH64IDExplorerBoth my dad and I have had to replace the bar sockets in our WDH hitches. The mfgr was very surprised I was ordering 1 set of sockets, let alone 2, but we attribute the wear to the higher than average amount of dirt road miles we travel.
- hvacExplorerI've heard they have excellent customer services. So rebuilding it sound doable. Cool.
- deer30084ExplorerI have been using my Eaz-lift 750 Weight Distributing Hitch since 1996.

Andersen lists replacement friction inserts for the hitch.
Andersen sent me a new friction cone when I told them it was about 1/4” above the hitch. - TimtationExplorer
