Any lorado access roll up covers owners

I recently purchased this cover on my tow vehicle. It sits above the bed rails on my chevy 3500 drw a little bit.Well the one rail got peeled back in a section on a turn.
Any one had a issue like this?
The dealer I bought my truck from had 2 different companies install the hitch and the cover .Dealer tells me its damaged now we cant do nothing about it.
I talked the hitch guy afterwards and he tells me he can't believe they put that cover on my truck with a fifthwheel .
SEEMS I AM SCREWED ON THIS.Even contacted Lorado Cover.
So BEWARE of buying this access lorado cover on your tow vehicle with a fifthwheel
  • I had the standard Access cover on my former truck, and now have the Lorado on current truck. The Lorado is a slightly lower profile, which does extend into the truck bed a little more. This will cause some clearance issues, depending on the design of the pin box.

I have had no problem, with either, but can clearly see why they would not work with some FW pin box designs. I measured for clearance, before I installed the Lorado.

  • If you have 5.5" clearance, it must have been a pretty sharp break over to cause that to happen. I have less clearance than that and I've only come in contact once. It was definitely my fault as I did something that I knew better than to do but you know how it goes when you are ticked off sometimes.

When my Truxedo gets a little long in the tooth, I would like to replace it with something that sits flush with the bed rail. Above the rail is definitely not an ideal situation.
  • I had every one look at it .Nothing else can be done.Adjusted everything.Like the hitch guy told he would never put that cover on.Wish he said something before.
    Have 5 1/2 " clearance that's it .
Guess I'm screwed on this deal.Buy another rail and sell it.
Did have a few others with this issue too talk to me with there chevys nbs.
  • I have had Access Lorado cover on my last 3 trucks and pulled fifth wheel campers with all of them. Never any problems. Access covers are probably the best cover on the market. I would say your pin box or hitch is not adjusted correctly and you do not have enough clearance.

This is what I currently have with no issues.

  • sounds like your trailer isn't 6" above the bed rails. I have an access and never had a problem, the Larado only sits 1" above the bed rails.
