- Marine_By_ChoicExplorerThey pick you up at the airport, take you to the dealership, take care of business and send you on your way with your new rig.
I personally have never bought from them, but have many, many friends buy from them multiple times. When my father was still living he flew there many times and transported pickups for business acquaintances.
Highly recommended. - donn0128Explorer IIAs the worlds largest Ram dealership they can simply beat the competetion. Call or email them with your requirements. You will get a reply in a hurry. Fly into Spokane, they pick you up. Great chance to see some beautiful country on your drive home.
- IdaDExplorerBe sure to check with Dennis Dillon too. I shopped multiple dealers including Dennis Dillon and Dave Smith, and Dave Smith wasn't even close on their best quote. Don't tell them you're cross shopping them against Dennis Dillon or they'll get snippy, at least if you get the same sales guy I was dealing with.
The deal I got with Dennis Dillon was straight up. I'm in Idaho so I just drove there, but they'll also pick you up from the airport for free if you buy remote. - BedlamModeratorDave Smith is one reason I am driving Ram instead of another Ford. The local Ram dealers did not want my business and were not versed in what they were selling. This happened when I bought my last truck 2005 and did not change in 2015 which is bad for potential Ram sales.
As others have posted, I flew out to Spokane and was picked up by dealer van to the lot. My truck was ready and we just completed the necessary paperwork. They fed me lunch before sending me on my way home and I was back home that same evening for dinner.
My last Ford and Ram purchase have been through fleet sales which is much more pleasant and efficient than the pressure of customer sales. I suggest whether purchase from afar or locally, that you deal with fleet sales. - TurnThePageExplorerThe price they quoted me over the phone is the price I paid. We were able to complete the bulk of the paperwork over the phone too. I also was dealing with Dennis Dillon who quoted lower, but didn't follow up or respond in a timely manner.
The Dave Smith dealership was pretty impressive and overwhelming to this backwater boy. - otrfunExplorer IIAlthough they don't have quite the inventory, Peterson Stampede Dodge down the road in Nampa ID will usually match Dennis Dillon and Dave Smith's pricing.
IMO, Peterson Stampede tends to offer more tow-friendly options on their new Ram 2500 Tradesmans/SLT's than DD & DS. For instance, they offer anti-spin, tow mirrors, backup camera, 5th wheel prep, and brake controller on a number of their Ram 2500 Tradesman/SLT's. Typically, it's very hard to find all these options on similar trucks at DD and DS. - WyoTravelerExplorerA friend bought from them and was happy. You do have to be specific. He wasn't and admitted it was his mistake. He bought a 3/4 ton Dodge Ram. Just assumed it would come with a trailer hitch. Nope, you have to be specific on exactly what you want.
- The_TexanExplorerI do not know how they are now, that the Smith family has sold the dealership, but they used to be an outstanding dealership to deal with.
http://www.autonews.com/article/20150425/RETAIL07/304279957/rfj-buys-dave-smith-auto - 45RicochetExplorerBought the GMC Canyon from them this past July. Lowest price I could find although it is a 2 hour drive for me. There is a reason they are the worlds largest Ram dealer and the PNW largest GM dealer. As I think the Texan suggested yes they did sell the dealership this past year but I got the same service and price as I did 10 years ago. Great folks to do business with.
- The_Mad_NorskyExplorerI also bought from Dave Smith, even though I just stopped by to look. Big mistake, as I drove away with a new truck.
Mind you, NOT a mistake to buy it though. The deal they offered was much better than anything I would have gotten regionally in my area of South Dakota.
As another poster mentioned, look closely for towing equipment features when you shop there. The Dave Smith salesman told me they didn't like ordering with the factory fifth wheel prep package when I was looking, and not finding any trucks with this package installed.
I ended up getting one with the B&W Turnover Ball installed in it, which works perfectly fine for me for fifth wheel towing as I just drop in the hitch and go.
Mind you, they have an excellent accessories shop there as well, and can really do just about anything for your vehicle that you want.
Since I use a truck camper, they installed a new set of Torklift tie downs on my Ram and a new Truxedo bed cover for it on the day I bought it. They also removed the Torklift tie downs from my Ford pickup I traded in.
They are an impressive dealership for sure.
